And the winner is...

The judges have weighed in, and we're excited to share the news! Go to the Great Expectations: Build the Shared, Open Standard of Data Quality gallery to congratulate the winners and check out all of the awesome submissions.

Even though the competition is over, you don't have to stop coding. Update your portfolio to inform your followers about new projects and get feedback from fellow hackers.

Please keep your eye on the Expectation Gallery as most of your contributions are already there and the rest will be up by Friday! Thanks so much for your contributions and keep refining what…

Great Expectations Hackathon: Last Day to Submit!

Hello!

Today is the last day to submit your projects! Please submit only one project that includes links to all of your PRs so we can count all of your contributions. It's okay if your PRs are still open. Please keep an eye on your PRs during the Judging period as we may have some questions or some edit requests to your submission. As long as the edits are minor we'll still accept your submission. If they are larger edits we will allow you to make your fixes during this judging period.

We'll be keeping a very close eye on…

Great Expectations Hackathon: 3 Days Left to Submit!

There are only 3 days left to complete your submission for Great Expectations: Build the Shared, Open Standard of Data Quality and there are still plenty of opportunities to win in every category. We've yet to see a runaway winner.

It's easier to make contributions, earning you points, than you think! See the example here: expect_column_average_to_be_within_range_of_given_point

Each item added to that Expectation in the gallery counts toward your total score: Expectation name, Backend Support, all the items in Description, Renderers, Examples, and every test. This also counts if you add this to existing expectations that are relevant to any of…

An update for Typed Entities and an opportunity to WIN EARLY.

Hello Hackathoners!,

After some user feedback, we found that we needed more clarification on our packages. First up is Typed Entities. We will be renaming Typed Entities to Semantic Types!

We've put together a brief overview of Semantic Types (Typed Entities) in our GitHub Discussions!
Included here are a number of relevant Expectations already contributed to Great Expectations; these are a great jumping-off point for ideas on further Expectations in this space. We also encourage discussion in that space. If you need guidance, have questions related to Semantic Types, want to share what you have in progress, or just…

Great Expectations Hackathon Rule Update for Russian participants.

Hello All,

It has come to my attention from the staff at Devpost that they will not allow any Russian participants in our hackathon.

From the Devpost staff:

"In accordance with new US sanctions, residents of Russia are no longer eligible to participate in this contest. The conflict in Ukraine and global repercussions are rapidly evolving. We are monitoring US sanctions against Russia and communicating with our contest attorney to make sure we are all compliant.  As such, we are advised to exclude Russian residents from participation in all hackathons (due to prize fulfillment, among other reasons).

We’re very sorry…
